FUNCTIONING The ELDONCARD® – blood typing kits work on the principle of direct hemagglutination: the dried reagents (antibodies) on the card react with the red blood cells of the patient or donor. If the antigen matches, agglutination (clumping) occurs; if the antigen is absent, there is no reaction. Based on the agglutination pattern, ABO and RhD blood types can be reliably determined.
