PBI
The unique properties of this fiber are nothing short of impressive: it can withstand temperatures of over 700 degrees Celsius while remaining supple and flexible. PBI, a product of Performance Products Inc., is the only manufacturer in the world that produces this advanced fiber. Our flame-retardant hoods with the golden touch of PBI offer an unparalleled combination of safety and comfort. Thanks to the unique properties of PBI fibers, they provide excellent protection against heat and flames while remaining lightweight and breathable. Their robust construction and durability make them perfect for the demanding conditions faced by fire departments.
FLAME-RETARDANT
comazo|protect relies on aramid for flame retardancy. This special yarn consists of approximately 115 individual fibers, making it extremely strong. Aramid fibers, such as "Kermel", are the ideal solution for protective workwear that must be fire-resistant. In addition to their exceptional heat and fire resistance, they are also resistant to acids, bases, and other corrosive liquids. The aramid fiber also impresses with its varying longitudinal and transverse directions, which effectively prevent heat transfer. The flame-retardant material has no melting point. Burns caused by melting material are therefore impossible. The material only chars at temperatures above 400 °C.
SWEAT REGULATION
Sweat management makes perspiration more tolerable during sports or work. The fibers used are characterized by their extremely water-repellent properties. Thanks to an advanced fabric, sweat is wicked directly to the outside, preventing damp and uncomfortable skin. This keeps your skin dry during labor-intensive processes and prevents your body from cooling down when you take a short break.
