Water-Jel is a first aid treatment for burns. It is a hydrogel made from pure demineralized water, disinfectant tea tree oil, and a medicinal gelling agent. It is thicker than water and does not evaporate.
Water-Jel can be used as an alternative in locations where no water is available and as a supplement to cooling with (preferably lukewarm) water. Water-Jel utilizes the principle of heat dissipation. The burn is cooled by transferring heat from the damaged skin to the hydrogel. The heat is not retained in the gel but is released into the environment. The heat from the burn is therefore quickly dissipated.
